Tribes 3v3 Progression: XP, Levels, Shards & Victory Drops
Tribes 3v3 progression has two layers: account levels (XP) and weapon upgrades (Shards). Here is how both work, based on the match-end screen.
XP Sources (per match)
| Action | XP |
|---|---|
| Playing a match | +40 |
| Victory | +60 |
| Eliminations | +90 total per match (≈15 per elimination) |
| Rounds won | +45 total per match (≈15 per round) |
| MVP | +25 |
| Win streak | +16 (scales with streak) |
| Assists | +5 each |
Example: a winning match with 6 elims and 3 round wins paid +281 XP total.
Levels
- Levels use a progress bar (e.g. Level 7 at 671 / 1,460 XP).
- Win streaks are tracked and bonus XP scales with them.
- The scoreboard tracks K / D / A / DMG per player, and the MVP (best elims + damage) is highlighted.
Victory Drop & Shards
Winning a match awards a Victory Drop containing:
- +20 Shards — the upgrade currency
- New items — weapons and gear at LV 1 (e.g. weapons, bows)
- Upgrade tokens — consumables marked UPGRADE (e.g. medkits and utility)
Losing matches still pay match XP and usually smaller drops — daily play compounds fast.
Upgrading weapons
- Open the Collection menu.
- Pick a weapon you own.
- Spend Shards to upgrade it — upgrades increase damage and other stats.
This is why observed damage varies between players: a Level-3 Musket hits harder than a Level-1 one. Higher levels also raise headshot numbers — see Weapons for ranges.
